  i'm putting this up for another jwd user.

  it is a "listing of outstanding word changes in the 1970 revised bible" (nwt).

  i believe this came out of the back of the nwt with the green cover.

  oh, i'm a pioneer and jehovah gave me $10 for gas

  i'm drawing a huge blank..

  there was a thread here a while back on the bogus experiences at the assemblies about how jehovah stepped in just when a pioneer has $0, and oh, boy, were we blessed.......yet whenver bad things happen, even when praying for help, like someone gets killed, the 'we put in 75 hours of service and jehovah fed us' theory turns idiotic..

  anyone remember that thread...or wanna give me some word power over those pathetic experiences....just got one via email from a relative and really want to throw back a doozy to make him think..

  I have a funny story along these lines.
  
  I was pioneering at the time. Well one Friday I decided to skip service and do some things that I actually wanted to do (how selfish). Well don't you know on the way home that afternoon I wrecked my car! Then as I was pulled off to the side of the rode two girls that where out in service stopped by to see how I was.
  
  I just knew Jehovah was punishing me for my selfish behavior!!!

  Just wanted to add that the biggest similarities you will find are the practices they engage in to defend their belief systems.
  
  - label apostate and demonic anybody that challenges their claims
  - ban the reading of certain books and magazines
  - teach people to watch the behavior of others
  
  There are many more. I have actually searched the LDS website and found information that is amazingly similar to the JWs.

  the van pulls up, i look up right into the drivers face and knew i didn't reconize her, or the two women in dresses that got out.

  they walked past my door, up the stairs, next to my door.

  Searching on JWD is now a great tool

  well, let me clarify that a bit.

  in a totally unscientific study of our relatively new search capability i've come to this conclusion: finding a post is dependent on when it was done.

  there is a delay of some 100 days, perhaps dependent on when some administrator does a scan of the entire database of posts -- which certainly must be time-consuming.
